Emergency
Preparedness
Brookfield Fire & Emergency Services wants to ensure that all citizens, businesses and organizations understand their responsibilities in an emergency and what resources are available at the local, municipal, provincial and federal levels. The following material is available to help you plan: Bulletin: 72 hours ... is Your Family Prepared? - issued February, 2008, this outlines your responsibilities, especially during the first 72 hours of an emergency. This document is designed to print on 8.5" x 14" size paper. addition, we encourage neighbours to
help each other out before, during
and following an emergency; this
helps to free up volunteer fire
fighters and volunteer medical first
responders for more serious
situations. The purpose of the SPAN
program (Strengthening Preparedness
Among Neighbours) is to enable
neighbourhoods to be self-sufficient
for a minimum of 72 hours following
a major disaster. To learn how your
road or neighbourhood can
participate, call Brookfield Fire
& Emergency Services at
