Brookfield Baptist
Pastor Eric MacKinnon We are a friendly,
Bible-believing and teaching church where our central aim
is encouraging people to become passionate followers of
Jesus Christ. Our worship services
are held every Sunday morning at 11:00 am
(except during July and August when we meet at 10:00 am)
and typically consist of an uplifting mix of traditional
and contemporary songs of worship and praise, prayer, and
a Bible-based message. There is no dress code and most
tend to dress casually. We have a clean, supervised
nursery and children s church available (September to
June). Through the week, we have groups for men, women,
and children which meet on a regular basis for Bible
study, prayer and fellowship. If you are looking for a place to belong
in the Brookfield area, we would love to welcome you!

History of the Church The Brookfield
Baptist Church was established in January of 1862.
Thirty seven members of the then Lower Stewiacke Baptist
Church A meeting house
was built before 1862, and stood as a church until 1924
when the present structure was built. Wood Brenton and
son Eldon used the old building for a general store
until the early 1970s. In 1976 a Christian Education
wing was added to the church. Brookfield
Baptist Church is one of about 550 in the Convention of
Atlantic Baptist Churches. It accepts and teaches the
Christian doctrines held by the Convention that stresses
the Lordship of Christ, and that the Bible is our only
guide for faith and practice. Many of the
early settlers prominent in the Baptist Church and in
the community still have descendents in the Church and
in the area,
